Community stewardship in action

River-to-RoadCommunity Clean-up

A grassroots invitation to restore pride in our shared public spaces—one roadside, waterway, neighborhood, and helping hand at a time.

The mission

Stewardship begins where we stand.

River-to-Road equips ordinary people to care for the places they use every day. Gather safely, remove litter responsibly, protect wildlife, and leave each place better than it was found.

Remove waste safely

Use gloves, grabbers, visibility gear, and clearly marked bags.

Protect water and wildlife

Keep plastics, chemicals, and debris from entering waterways and habitats.

Strengthen community pride

Invite neighbors, families, students, and local groups to participate.

Plan a clean-up

Start small. Work safely. Leave a visible difference.

Choose a location

Confirm access, permission, safe parking, disposal options, and local requirements.

Prepare your supplies

Bring gloves, grabbers, bags, drinking water, sun protection, and high-visibility clothing.

Protect every volunteer

Supervise youth, avoid traffic, and never handle needles, chemicals, or unknown hazardous materials.

Document the impact

Count bags, note unusual debris, and share results to encourage future stewardship.
